Iran - Free Roxana Saberi! (English/Portuguese)

On 8th April 2009, the Islamic Republic of Iran jailed an American-Iranian woman for eight years. In a secretive trial, without fair representation, she was charged with spying for the USA.
Roxana Saberi worked for six years in Iran, the birthplace of her father, as an International journalist and latterly she was writing a book on the culture and people of Iran. In January 2009 she was arrested for allegedly purchasing a bottle of wine and later charged with working as a journalist without a valid press card.
Roxana was well educated, accomplished, obviously hard-working and was a credit to her Iranian heritage. While others have fled Iran, she bravely chose to return to the home of her father, no doubt with some pride in the mother country and with a desire to relish the many good things that Iran has to offer. Then the Iranian regime stabs her in the back with this ridiculous charge of spying.
Please, let's do our part to help Roxana be free from this injustice. Let's encourage Iran to end this madness and help make the world a better place.

No dia 8 de Abril de 2009, a República Islâmica do Irão condenou uma mulher Americana-Iraniana a 8 anos de prisão. Num secreto exame de provas, sem uma justa representação, aquela foi acusada de espiar para os Estados Unidos da América.
Roxana Saberi trabalhou 6 anos como jornalista internacional no Irão, país onde o seu pai nasceu, e mais recentemente estava a escrever um livro sobre a cultura e o povo do Irão. Em Janeiro de 2009, foi presa, por comprar uma garrafa de vinho e, mais tarde, por trabalhar como jornalista sem licença.
Roxana foi bem educada, competente, obviamente trabalhando intensamente e foi um bom exemplo para a sua herança cultural Iraniana. Enquanto outros abandonaram o Irão, ela corajosamente optou por voltar à casa de seu pai, sem dúvida com algum orgulho no seu país de origem, com o forte desejo de usufruir das muitas coisas boas que o Irão tem para oferecer. Depois o regime iraniano atraiçoa-a com a já referida ridícula acusação de espionagem.
Por favor, vamos esforçar-nos por ajudar Roxana a ser liberta desta injustiça. Vamos encorajar o Irão a acabar esta loucura e ajudar a fazer do mundo um melhor lugar.

O novo presidente dos Estados Unidos quis deixar clara a sua posição relativamente à resolução do conflito em Israel: Será uma das suas prioridades. Ele fez telefonemas para o médio oriente.
O primeiro líder que Obama contactou foi o palestiniano Mahmoud Abbas; depois falou com o primeiro ministro Israelita, Ehud Olmert...

Latest (Portuguese and English)
Este blog era para ser em Inglês mas passa a não ter língua própria, passa a ser em qualquer idioma.
Gaza encontra-se de momento em paz, a beneficiar de apoio humanitário, com países a investir muitos milhões para a sua reconstrução. Como é o caso da Arábia Saudita.
O rei de Marrocos enviou uma mensagem a Obama, em palavras minhas: "Faça a paz na Palestina, reconheça um Estado Palestino que exista em paz e autonomia, ao lado do de Israel". De momento concordo com este homem.
Há muitas pessoas a lutar pela paz.
Creio que o que nós, portugueses, podemos fazer é estar atentos e informados para formar uma sólida opinião pública.
Há coisas que provavelmente fogem ao razoável e admíssivel. Por exemplo: Israel, existe como estado graças à força do seu exército. Nada a opor...Portugal também...! Agora, que pertença à ONU e utilize armas reprovadas pela organização, que prejudicam grandemente o bem estar dos civis...se andam a brincar aos crimes de guerra há que os colocar na linha!

Gaza is now at peace for the benefit of humanitarian support, with countries investing millions for its reconstruction. As is the case of Saudi Arabia. The king of Morocco sent a message to Obama, in my words: "Make peace in Palestine, recognize a Palestinian State to exist in peace and independence, alongside that of Israel." At the moment I agree with this man. There are many people fighting for peace. I think that what we can do to help is to be aware and informed about what happens there, to make a strong public opinion. There are things that probably fleeing the reasonable and acceptable. For example, Israel, exists as a state thanks to the strength of its army. Nothing to object... so it is Portugal! and England... Now, that belongs to the UN and use weapons disapproved by the organization, which greatly affect the welfare of civilians ... if Isaraelits are playing with war crimes I think they should be "puted on the line"...! | |

Lisonjeado (Portuguese)
É como me sinto pelo convite de Pipa para postar com ele "FIGHTING FOR PEACE".
Na verdade penso que deveria ter recusado o convite porque não estou lá muito abonado de forças para estas andanças, tanto mais que "Com Menta" vai definhando por falta de alimento!
Pois é, no contexto em que surge Let´s fight for peace, o convite assume-se como que um xeque o que me obriga a mover-me no tabuleiro...
Omer Goldman recusa-se por convicções suas a obedecer ao estado de Israel.
Na verdade penso que deveria ter recusado o convite porque não estou lá muito abonado de forças para estas andanças, tanto mais que "Com Menta" vai definhando por falta de alimento!
Pois é, no contexto em que surge Let´s fight for peace, o convite assume-se como que um xeque o que me obriga a mover-me no tabuleiro...
Omer Goldman recusa-se por convicções suas a obedecer ao estado de Israel.
Respeito convicções e quando não coincidem com as minhas, o que não é o caso, entendo que devem ser combatidas com argumentos não adiantando qualquer tipo de coacção para as alterar.
Goldman recusa-se a pôr o dedo no gatilho e o olho em inimigos de Israel; estou convicto que reprovará os que lhe arremessam para o seu terraço engenhos de morte catapultados por sentimentos de revolta ainda que cimentados em fortes convicções do direito a um estado Palestiano ou, até mesmo, ao direito de escorraçar os que se abrigam sob a estrela de David, mas isso não basta para que respire em liberdade como eu:

Israel Palestin and people like Omer Goldman (English)
It is humanly complex what is happening in Israel.
The area where it was the Palestine,where Israel exists today, since 1948, is a useful passage between Africa and Asia, coveted and disputed since ancient times. Unlike other powers that were in transit, sometimes delegating the administration of the region to local potentates, the Arabs have set up, in fact, in the region, for more than 4 centuries ...
The borders of that territory were subject to changes and even through the war 50 years ago!
Jews are based on the Biblical claim to the area .... But the Judaism, Christianity and Islam have something in common: Semitic roots ...
The war is still necessary there ... it may be fair to give a place to Palestine, erased from the map.
Omer Goldman, Israeli pacifist, 19 years old, is arrested for refusing to integrate the army. She simply does not want to kill human beings. It is not legitimate?
